God is certain in uncertain times

Just as God provided for the Israelites to cross over the Jordan River in Joshua chapter 3, we know that God - the same God - will provide for the completion of the Gym project here at Black Lake.

As the Priests entered the water, it must have taken a bit of time for them to see the results of the water being held up 16-18 miles away. They had to believe and have faith that God was going to complete what he had promised to do.

We are in the same position, our feet are in the water and we are understanding that God has not forgotten us but instead he is ahead, sometimes where we cannot see, 16 miles down the road working toward the goal.

The projects that God is apart of don't just magically appear but instead God uses His people to provide and work toward those goals.

The Gym project is one that when complete a whole new set of ministry opportunities will open up. Our fall and winter programs will grow and the point of setting the gospel before our campers will be greatly enhanced...even if just for greater numbers hearing the Word. The after-school program will take flight and unchurched kids in the community will have a place to come, a safe place where they will have opportunity to find Jesus.

None of those things can be done without the help of God's people.

We need about $300,000 to be able to bring the building to completion. If you are in a position to be able to help through financial donations, material donations or volunteer labor or maybe even all of the above please contact Steve Ewert, Executive Director. 800-731-2267 or 360-357-8425. You can also email him at Steve@blacklakebiblecamp.com.

We long to see the hand of God work through His people and to finally see the evidence of that which is unseen now. Remember that God is still certain even in times which are uncertain. He doesn't begin something to abandon it later for something different.

Upcoming dates beyond summer

Summer 2009 is just weeks away!!

We are very excited to see the summer camps begin. Our staff arrives shortly and then in a mad whirl wind we are off to the races. The expectation is high for what God will do in the lives of young and old alike. Keep our campers in your prayers for safety as they play hard and for their spiritual well being as they hear God's word spoken daily. You might want to pray for our summer staff also as they work hard and spend time counseling, lifeguarding, dishwashing, cleaning and more. They are an important part of this ministry and the key to a great summer.

Summer 2008!

Well, this summer was another success thanks to the wonderful God we serve.

We are deeply thankful to Him for His great blessings in regards to campers and their decisions to consider or even follow after Jesus!

We look forward to our fall season and what it has to hold with many returning guest groups and new groups as well. Please continue to pray for us as we serve our guests and pray for them as well, that God would be profoundly discovered and praised!

Sr High Camp

Sr High Camp was great! Many life changes were made and many more were challenged to consider them. One student replied on our website after returning home, here is what he had to say:
"Black Lake Bible Camp was a blast for me. It was the first time I had ever been there and I was also baptized. Jeff Olson really got to me through his deep topics on friendship and love for God! The worship there was the best with the Scott Olsen Band....I loved it. Thank you Black Lake Bible Camp. I plan on coming next year as well."
